Prosper Ambaka is a Senior Associate and Litigation Lead at Crest & Waterfalls Consulting, with practice experience spanning dispute resolution, corporate and commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring, corporate advisory, and regulatory compliance.
As Litigation Lead, Prosper provides technical leadership for the Firm’s contentious practice, working on the development and execution of litigation strategy, advocacy, case management and the effective resolution of complex commercial disputes. He brings a commercially oriented approach to dispute resolution, combining legal analysis and advocacy with an appreciation of the underlying business and strategic considerations affecting clients.
Prior to joining Crest & Waterfalls Consulting, Prosper practised with Yakubu Maikasuwa, SAN & Co., Abuja, where his work included corporate restructuring and insolvency matters, commercial litigation, debt recovery, enforcement of contractual obligations and the preparation of court processes in high-value commercial and insolvency-related disputes. His litigation experience includes trial advocacy, presentation of evidence, examination-in-chief and cross-examination.
His experience also extends to corporate and regulatory compliance, including statutory filings, corporate documentation, regulatory engagement and advisory support for local and foreign-owned businesses.
Prosper has a particular professional interest in insolvency and restructuring, corporate and commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, financial regulation, capital markets and financial technology law. He is also interested in the intersection between law, technology and the changing delivery of professional legal services.
He holds an LL.B (Hons), Second Class Upper Division, from the University of Calabar and a Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus. He is an Accredited Insolvency Practitioner and an Associate Member of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN). He has undertaken further professional development in insolvency, financial markets, investment management, corporate transactions and commercial law.
